College and graduate school applications are stressful.
I’m here to help.
About Me
I have been working with students through my entire career to help them express their ideas in writing. I was a Journalism major at Penn State University, where I worked as a tutor in the university’s writing center. I attended law school at George Washington University where I was a member of both Law Review and Moot Court Board and graduated with Honors. After practicing law at a Washington, DC law firm and working as a legal editor, I began teaching legal writing at George Washington University and Delaware Law School. In 2017, I began working with students on their application essays and personal statements. My students have found great success.
I love working with clients to help them find essay topics and show admissions readers who they are. It is an honor to work with people who are at a time of change in their life, pivoting to what comes next. It is a fun and exciting way to use the skills I have developed through my life to help people succeed. Students find me to be easy to talk to, patient, creative, and just strict enough to make sure they complete the work that needs to be done!
I currently live in Haddonfield, NJ with my husband and our dog, Louie. Our two daughters have already completed the college and graduate school process (Yale University 2020 and Tulane University 2022 + University of Pennsylvania MS.ED 2024.
My Approach
-
Between main application essays, supplemental essays, deadlines, rotating application seasons, and more, it can be difficult to keep track of all that needs to get done.
I work with students to organize and plan their work and establish a deadline-based timeline in order to minimize stress and anxiety.
-
Great essays are in the details. As such, the most important part of an essay is the topic you choose.
To come up with topics, students might ask themselves questions such as: What am I most proud of? Was there a point in my life when I changed my mind about something? What do other people often get wrong about me? What are traditions in my home or my life that I really love? What has happened in my life that made me change for the better?
I work with students to help them find the story they want to tell. Students have so many stories inside of them – but sometimes it’s difficult to tell what will make a good application essay or personal statement. When we meet, I will ask lots of questions and provide many examples so that students can find topics that are perfect for them.
-
As a trained legal writer, editor, and professor, I have lots of experience editing writing. I work with students to make sure their essay or personal statement is compelling, interesting and easy to read. After a student develops an initial first draft of their essay, I provide comprehensive feedback on both the substance of the essay and the writing itself. We will edit together to address length, structure, organization and word choice issues.

Essays are an opportunity for admissions committees to get to know a student in a way that may not otherwise be reflected on the application itself. They’re an opportunity to showcase resilience, patience, an ability to be flexible when things don’t go as expected, social intelligence, curiosity, or a welcoming acceptance of others.
Through my process and with my support, students will craft compelling essays that will help them achieve their goals.
